Vintage Color Palettes

Told through tins of fish

We love vintage here at Hinna Co.

Even though “the look” is stuck in time, there’s endless opportunity to use it again and again. You see references to the past in most visually-oriented industries - fashion, art, interior design, architecture, cooking, and the list goes on.

Maybe we love referring to the past because it’s tried and true? Maybe it’s because these styles came from a time when craftsmanship was the norm, not the exception. Maybe because it’s familiar and we like to see what we know… maybe it’s a mix of all of it.

In this post, we’re going to make some color palettes that are old school. These are coming from the literal archives of what I assume to be one of Portugal’s integral industries: tinned fish.

I know, I know, it’s trendy, but they are great sources of inspiration and frankly, of color inspiration.

P.S. I got this awesome source from the great Beth Matthews and her awesome newsletter that goes out every month. If you’re also interested in vintage euphremra, check her out here.

SO! Enough background and context building, let’s get into some vintage color palettes you can use for your timeless designs.
